The PCM Motorsports Inc. Late Model cars were off to a good start this season. Driver Miles “Pistonhead” Copenhaver has been looking forward to the 2009 Late Model Season. Testing Friday night went well and the team learned a lot about track temperature differences. For qualifying, Miles put the PCM Motorsports #8 car into 16th place to start the race. During the race, Miles did a great job of showing patience while letting the track come to him and moved up for a 6th place finish. “The PCM Motorsports Ford #8 was good but we need to make it better” says Miles as he thinks about the next race. His Brother Brett did another great job of spotting to keep Miles out of trouble. Dad (Paul Copenhaver) spotted for the Team car with driver Dan DiGiacomo at the wheel and he drove to a 13th place finish. The next Late Model race for PCM Motorsports is April 11th and ARCA/NASCAR Driver Justin Lofton is scheduled to drive the team car #88.
To note, Miles would like to thank all of his sponsors that make this racing season possible; Ron’s Rear End, PCM Motorsports, Apache Rentals, Eibach Spring, BCRI, Rapid Ron Racing, Inc., Tubbs Vinyl, Bill Loe Racing Engines, 10,000 RPM Clutches, WUI, www.racinaround .com.
Miles and the crew are getting ready to run Super Late Model this weekend at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Watch for the red number 18.
