SCOTT GAYLORD DRIVER LOG - VEGAS

NAPA 300 at The Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway NASCAR Winston West

We arrived to Vegas on Tuesday night greeted by rain, the rain continued all night and on to the next day. We were rained out for the 28th so we race on the 1st instead.

We started 21st and I unavoidably was involved in many accidents, I lost count, we pitted far too many times which gave the Oliver crew plenty of action, more than they bargained for, but they did an excellent job pulling and patching and changing the flattest of tires. With more than our share of problems on the race track we still managed to finish in 9th place, we were amazed.

We moved up to 7th in the Points and will have to bring old Merlin out of retirement for the Tucson race since Zephyr will need some body work after the Vegas mess, and after seeing what went on at the last race we don't feel like subjecting Chief to that type of abuse, we know how tough Merlin really is he can handle it.

NASCAR Busch Then I got a call from Jimmy Means to drive the #52 Busch car at the Speedway in the Sam's Town 300. The engine never ran very good and by lap 10 my day was over when the engine gave up.

See you at Tucson
