HOPING TO MAKE THE THIRD TIME THE CHARM

Las Vegas…Hoping to make the third time the charm, Brendan Gaughan and Orleans Racing are ready to power their No.16 NAPA/Martin Senour Chevrolet Monte Carlo to a top place finish in Round 3 of the NASCAR Winston West Series at Tucson Raceway Park, Saturday, March 10.

"I'm pretty fired up," says Gaughan, the reigning NASCAR Winston West Series Champion. "Our NAPA Monte Carlo is really fast. We've proven that in the first two rounds. Our crew chief Shane Wilson has done an awesome job getting everything dialed in and we're set to go."

Currently ranked 15th in the point standings, Gaughan is more than determined to move up. 'Tucson Raceway Park is a fun, tight little track, similar to the Las Vegas Bullring," continues Gaughan. "The only downside is that you have to pit outside, so if you have a problem, you're pretty much done. Hopefully everything will go smooth and we will be able to land on the Podium."

Having logged numerous hours on tracks like Tucson Raceway Park, Gaughan is hoping for an extra edge this coming weekend. "The first two races were both good and bad," explains the Las Vegas resident. "In the first round, we were right up in front when we blew a tire and landed in the wall. Last weekend, we were doing great when we hit some oil and spun. To compound the problem, the car wouldn't start without a push and we fell a bunch of laps down. We made up as much time as we could and were happy to take home an 8th place finish.

While we didn't finish as high as we would have liked, we know we have a winning car and our Orleans crew is definitely on top of the pit stops. Best of all, the racing was really good and it was a fantastic show for the fans."

Armed with an on going sponsorship from NAPA, an extremely fast Monte Carlo and one of the best crews in racing, Orleans Racing has all the ingredients necessary to win and it shouldn't be long before they're back in the thick of the points battle.
