FULTON, Mississippi — Eric Cooley shook the early season monkey off his back as he picked up back-to-back feature wins at Magnolia Motor Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi over the weekend.
Eric competed in the first of two nights of action at Magnolia Motor Speedway on Friday night, April 3rd. It turned out to be a great night for the young Fulton, Mississippi driver as he picked up his first win of 2009 in his #33c Late Model Stock over a field of 14 cars. In the Crate Late Model divisions, he drove his #33c Victory Circle M1 Chassis By Moyer to a 5th place finish against a 21 car field.
On Saturday night, April 4th, Cooley would return to Magnolia Motor Speedway and pick up where he left off on Friday night by winning his second Late Model Stock feature in as many nights as he took the checkered flag in front of a field of 16 entries. In the Crate Late Model division, he turned in another strong performance as he recorded a 3rd place finish in the feature against a field of 24 competitors.
“It’s always great to get to victory lane, but it was really great to get back there this weekend as we’ve had some bad breaks early in the season, and this is the shot in the arm that our team needed to get things back on track,” noted Cooley.
This weekend, Friday and Saturday, April 10th-11th, Cooley Motorsports will travel to Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi for the 8th Annual Rebel Challenge.
