Gridley, Calif. – 20 year-old Quintin Crye will make his 2009 season debut this Saturday night at All American Speedway in Roseville, Calif. in the NASCAR Whelen All American Series & Westcar Late Model Series Twin .44 event.
Crye will campaign his #73 Rueda Racing / Hybrid Haven Chevrolet in a pair of 44 lap features on the one-third mile asphalt oval.
The Cherokee Indian racer was the 2007 USAC Western Midget Rookie of the Year and won a BCRA Midget feature at Placerville Speedway in 2008.
Crye’s goal is to have a strong run for his sponsors and get down to the business of racing.
“For the sponsors we have I want to give them a good run,” Crye said. “It will be cool when we get to the track and can just focus on racing.”
Crye expects to be a top-ten and possibly a top-five car for the weekend.
“I don’t see why we couldn’t be in the top-five if we’re in the right place at the right time,” Crye said. “For the second 44 I really want to be in the top-five but my overall goal is bring the car home in one piece.
Blakesley Sports Media and Crye spent the winter working on sponsorship, gaining support from several influential companies in motorsports.
Crye’s efforts on Saturday will be supported by Turtle Wax, NGK Spark Plugs / Art of Fast, K&N Filters, JE Pistons, JAZ Products, Oakley, ISC Racer’s Tape, Butlerbuilt seats, Pioneer Auto Body, and JME Motorsports.
“I’m really excited to be with Turtle Wax and NGK this year because of how hard they are trying to make something work for us long-term,” Crye said. “We are looking at expanding the relationship with them for some bigger things.”
Crye will be teamed up with crew chief Josh Bews, a successful driver and fabricator in California stockcar racing for many years.
The team plans to test on Thursday before getting down to action on Saturday night.
