PRIMM, Nevada — Gene Woods came away from the series opener for the new Lucas Oil Off Road Racing Series at the Primm Valley Motorsports Complex in Primm, Nevada very pleased with the performance of his Deja Vu/Larry Flint’s Hustler Club Dodge truck as he scored two top ten finishes for the weekend.
"The series looks great! They did a very good job. For the first event it was very organized and the people were friendly and it made it pleasant to be there."— Gene Woods
“We finished tenth on Saturday and eighth on Sunday with an overheating engine. We were running better than we have ever run even though we are 100 cubic inches shy of the other trucks, a problem we hope to solve by the next time we run”.
But what truly left Woods impressed was the new series itself. “The series looks great! They did a very good job. For the first event it was very organized and the people were friendly and it made it pleasant to be there. The layout of the track, pits, etc. was much better for competitors as well as spectators. The TV and media looked to be doing a great job as well, I have never seen so many TV cameras at one event. They are serious about this!”
