LUCAS OIL LATE MODEL DIRT SERIES PREPARES FOR BUSY MONTH OF MAY

CORONA, California — With $110,000 on the line in first place prize money alone the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series hits the road for six events during a five consecutive week stretch of racing action.

The Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will kick off the month with a first ever visit to Paducah International Raceway in Paducah, KY for a $10,000 to win event on Saturday Night, May 2nd. Paducah will also be hosting a special for UMP Late Models on Friday Night May 1st paying $3,000 to win. PIR is co-owned by Bob Sargent and NASCAR drivers Dale Earnhardt, Jr., Ken Schrader and Tony Stewart as they will host a Lucas Oil Series event for the first time in track history. The Saturday Night Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series event will be tapped in front of the high-definition cameras of SPEED for a 1 hour tape-delayed broadcast.

The Third Annual SuperClean "Diamond Nationals" will be up after Paducah as the "Diamond of the Dirt Tracks" Lucas Oil Speedway in Wheatland, MO hosts the $30,000 to win event on Friday and Saturday, May 8th and 9th. The event will be taped for a special 2 hour broadcast on SPEED to be aired tape-delayed. Previous winners include Brian Birkhofer of Muscatine, IA and Shannon Babb of Moweaqua, IL.

The next stop in May will be at the La Salle Speedway in La Salle, IL on Saturday Night, May 16th for the Annual "Spring Shootout" paying $10,000 to win at the Kerrianne and Joe Izzo promoted facility. Watertown, NY's Tim McCreadie won the event in 2008.

Memorial Day weekend will see two outstanding events new to the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series schedule. The O'Reilly Show-Me 100 Presented by Dart Machinery will have a winner's purse of $40,000 on the line on May 22nd and 23rd as the series sanctions the crown jewel event for the very first time at the Don and Billie Gibson promoted West Plains Motor Speedway in West Plains, MO. The O'Reilly Show-Me 100 will be the third event of the month to be taped in HD in front of the cameras of SPEED, it will be a one-hour broadcast.

The series concludes the Memorial Day weekend with a visit to Kevin and Tammy Gundaker's Tri-City Speedway in Pontoon Beach, Il sanctioning for the first time the "FedEx50" paying $10,000 to win on Sunday, May 24th.

To wind up the lucrative month of May for the Lucas Oil Late Model Dirt Series will be the "Ralph Latham Memorial" on Saturday Night, May 30th at the King family promoted Florence Speedway in Union, KY. The $10,000 to win event always draws top notch competition to the facility which is the home of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame. Jimmy Owens of Newport, TN is the defending race winner.
