FRANKLINTON, Louisiana — After a few weeks away from the track to catch their breath from a hectic early portion of the 2009 season, Voodoo Motorsports and David Breazeale will return to action this weekend with the Lucas Oil Late Model Series in a pair of events in Pennsylvania and Maryland.
Voodoo Motorsports was last in action two weeks ago in the 8th Annual Brown Engineering Rebel Challenge at Columbus Speedway in Columbus, Mississippi with both David Breazeale and Scott Creel in action. On Friday night, April 10th with 44 Super Late Models on hand Breazeale finished 2nd in his qualifier to earn the 14th starting spot in the $3,000 to win, 40 lap event. He would record a 15th place finish in the event. On Saturday night, April 11th with 45 Super Late Models signed in for battle David set fast time in his group in group qualifying and started 4th in the 50 lap, $10,000 to win event. He would battle at the front of the pack in the race's early stages before retiring with an ill handling car to an 18th place finish.
On Friday night, Scott finished 2nd in his qualifier in his #31 Mastersbilt/Wall-2-Wall Racing Engine Super Late Model and earned the 16th starting spot in the feature. He would retire early in the event with mechanical woes to a 23rd place finish. On Saturday night, Creel fell short of qualifying for the main event after finishing 8th in his qualifier with only the top four cars transferring to the feature.
This weekend, Breazeale will resume his pursuit of the 2009 Lucas Oil Late Model Series Rookie of the Year title in his #54 Mastersbilt/Jay Dickens Racing Engine Super Late Model as he makes the long tow to the east coast for a pair of events. The weekend kicks off on Friday, April 24th at Bedford Speedway in Bedford, Pennsylvania with a $10,000 to win event. On Saturday, the action shifts to the legendary Hagerstown Speedway in Hagerstown, Maryland with the $10,000 to win, 28th Annual Stanley Schetrompf Classic. This weekend will mark the first time that David has competed at either facility. He is currently third in the Lucas Oil Rookie of the Year standings.
