
PORTLAND, Oregon — The 19 year old rookie to asphalt racing in 2009 Joey Tanner posted a 5th place finish this weekend at Yakima Speedway in the 2009 Apple Cup. This was only Tanner's fourth start on the asphalt in his career and when asked about his thoughts on his finish Tanner replied. " This is a big boost for me leading up to the 2009 ASA Northwest Tour season ahead, to be in the hunt to win with vetrans drivers such as Garret Evans, Jeff ]efferson, Gary Lewis, Pete Harding, and eventual race winner Jason Fraser was a great feeling"
The 2009 I-racing ASA Northwest Tour rookie of the year contendant now has bigger visions on his season ahead after this weekend of racing. " I think we got a good shot at winning not only the rookie of the year, but the chamionship as well." Yound Tanner, son of local legend Jody Tanner, made major strides this weekend with a solid 5th place finish in one of the premiere races of the year with the Apple Cup. With the 2007 ASA Northwest tour champion BJ Tidrick as a crew chief and mentor Tanner has confidence on his side.
