STOCK CAR SYNDICATE ACTION RETURNS TO WILLOW SPRINGS SPEEDWAY THIS SATURDAY

Stock Car Syndicate will be treating its fans to a full afternoon of multi class stock car racing this Saturday, April 25th, at the Willow Springs Speedway. The quarter mile paved oval is located within the mammoth Willow Springs International Raceway Park complex in Rosamond-California. Nick Jennings and Jon Christensen, Stock Car Syndicate promoters, will be presenting racing action from the Late Model, Pro Four, Street Stock, Pure Stock, Mini Stock, Factory Four, Legends, Bandolero and Figure Eight divisions. Saturday's race will be the third event from a brand new 2009 championship points series that began back on March 8th.

Stock Car Syndicate's Late Model division has been a hot bed of competition so far in 2009. Going into Saturday afternoon's race there are only 19 points separating the top six drivers in the standings. John Cran sits on top of the Late Model rankings with 107 points. However that lead is a mere three points ahead of John Penning and six markers ahead of Alex Anderson. Not to be overlooked here is the presence of former track champion Chris Peedan and speedway veteran Randy Wilkins who are tied for fourth with 96 points each. Never to be overlooked is the presence of Anthony Mainella who is no stranger to the Willow Springs victory lane. Mainella is sixth in the standings and, with 88 points, is still in striking distance of the leaders.

The Super Stock rankings is currently centered around two drivers going into Saturday's race. Jeff Grill leads the standings with 120 points but it's only a 12 point lead over Greg Wilkins. With the points championship structure running all the way to mid October, there's still plenty of time for drivers Rick Fife and Chris Dunlap to work their way back into this points picture.

In the fan favorite Legend Car Series Art Neville leads the points. The Acton-California racing veteran has accumulated 118 points but it's only a 13 point margin over Bill Vose in second.

The Mini Stocks are also scheduled to see action this Saturday at the Willow Springs Speedway. Greg Diddha has a very healthy points lead in the division. However the race for second between Reverend Joe Bubbico and Rodney Bornhop is quite close. The two drivers are only separated by five points.

The youngster in their small, but very fast, Bandolero cars are very popular with the Willow Springs fans. Aaron Anderson has been on fire over the past few races and holds a very healthy points lead. But the division's points standings are quite close from second through sixth with only 11 points separating drivers Devon Newberry, Blake Dunkleberger, Lil Al Simpson, Ricky Schlick and Matthew Davey.

On Saturday race day the gates will open at 8am. A practice session for all divisions is set for 9 to 11 am followed by qualifying at noon. The first race of the day will receive the green flag at 1 pm. For more information contact Stock Car Syndicate Promoters Nick Jennings, 661 305 3789, or Jon Christensen, 805 503 9985.
