Pure Stock and Bomber divisions will crown their "Early Season" champions before action gets underway this Saturday night at Canyon Speedway Park. With the closing of Manzanita Speedway it was decided by the Canyon staff to end the point season for the two divisions and give all competitors a full season run at the points championship starting this Saturday. Steve Bitting (Pure Stocks) and Mike Bray (Bombers) were both leading their division's point standings after the last races and will be honored with "Early Season" championship plaques before the races get underway.
It was also decided to reward the Canyon competitors with bonus points going into the reset 2009 point season. The winners of the "Early Season" standings for the Pure and Bomber divisions will receive a 15 point bonus in the reset standings with finishers 2nd through 15th in the points receiving 1 point less per position as we restart the season for Pure Stocks and Bombers at Canyon Speedway Park.
The ASCA 360 Non-Wing Sprint Cars will headline the action this Saturday night and they will be joined by the AMMA Non-Wing Modified Midgets, IMCA Southern Sport Mods, Pure Stocks and Bombers.
Racing action gets the green flag at 7:30pm with gates opening at 5pm.
Admission is $15 for adults, $13 for Senior & Military with Children 12 & Under always free. An all access pit pass is $30 at the back gate allowing access to the pits and grandstands though the crossover gate.
