This Saturday night April 25th starts a New Era of Entertainment at Santa Maria Speedway. Toste Construction will be sponsoring an unbelievable show, with The West Coast Late Model Shootout, Papich Construction IMCA Modifieds, East/West Street Stocks and Factory Stocks.
The headliner of the night is the West Coast Shootout Late Models battling for the $2000 to win/$500 to start purse. 31 of the best Dirt Late Model drivers from California, Oregon and Arizona showed up for the first West Coast Shootout event at Bakersfield Speedway, which was won by Oregon’s Trevor Glaser. They will be up against Santa Maria Speedway regulars for this spectacular Dirt Late Model event. Those 31 Drivers are eligible for the CJ Rayburn Chassis that will be given away in a drawing at the end of the year to a driver that attends all 6 West Coast Shootout events.
Next up will be the super competitive Papich Construction IMCA Modifieds. Most racers in the Modified division have already been competing around California and have there chassis dialed in for this, the 1st of 13 Papich Construction IMCA Modified races. Current Track Champion Danny Lauer will be up against heavy hitters from all over California.
The East/West Street Stocks will also be on tap opening night. With all the different winners last year, it is always a fight to the last lap. Turning lap times in the low 16 seconds, this is one exciting Street Stock division. E/W Champion Tim Randolph will try and put a stop to Nick Sylvester’s win streak, while battling with 20+ other Street Stock competitors.
In the Factory Stock division, the Santa Maria boys will be defending there home turf against some of Bakersfield’s best Hobby Stocks. The Bakersfield Hobby Stocks will be making 3 visits to Santa Maria Speedway, in what could turn out to be quite a rivalry.
