WILD FINISH FOR MYERS IN JIMMIE JOHNSON FOUNDATION 150

It was a wild finish for Andrew Myers driving the # 77 Performance Motorsports Jan's Towing, J & M Construction, Toyota of Escondido Camry in last Thursdays running of the Jimmie Johnson Foundation 150 at Phoenix International Raceway.

Starting in the 12th qualifying position, Andrew drove an early aggressive race that had the Huntington Beach racing star running 5th. Handling woes caused the car to slip back and lose a lap prior to a caution coming out.

A scoring snafu lost the lucky dog free pass and made Andrew start in the rear for the restart. Andrew was able to run back up to the front and almost get his lap back on his own. The subsequent caution flag put Andrew back on the lead lap and he was able to run back to the front. All in all Andrew had to race from the back of the pack to the front 2 times.

A wild and crazy green, white, checkered finish found Andrew with a 6th place finish. "I only wish that I would have had a couple of more laps and I know that we would have had a chance at the win" said Andrew. " My Crew Chief Justin Holchek made the changes that we needed at the right time and gave me a car capable of winning.

Andrew is a past winner of this event and just won the late model feature at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale the previous Saturday night.

For those fortunate enough to wander the pits, the # 77 Toyota Camry sported a logo commemerating the West Coast Stock Car Hall of Fame of which car owner Joe Nava is a board member. The Hall of Fame honors those West Coast drivers, owners, mechanics and sponsors that have made a viable contribution to the sports of stock car racing on the West Coast.
