PATISON BRINGS HOME THE COCA COLA MOVE OF THE RACE AWARD AT TRI COUNTY NASCAR EAST RACE

Jason Patison and team rolled into Tri County, NC for stop number2 of the NASCAR Camping World East Series, looking to improve on their 11th place opening day finish. Jason turned in a time good enough for the 22nd starting position but after a post qualifying change to the car ( a faulty radiator cap) Patison had to start at the rear of the 27 car field.

"I couldn’t believe the motor stayed together, my gauge stops at 280, the needle past that an circled around and was reading 140 again, it was well over 300 degrees."Jason Patison

When the green flag dropped Patison began working his way to the front, he cracked the 10-ten but was caught up in someone else’s wreck and damaged the nose of his racecar. The restricted airflow caused the vehicle to severely overheat. With 2 laps to Patison’s car had reached 280 degrees and resembled a locomotive as he circled the 3/8 mile track. As he came around turn four he couldn’t wait to see the white flag but unfortunately was greeted with the yellow. Another altercation brought out another caution and the race went beyond the scheduled amount of laps. By the time the field went green again it was 13 laps over the scheduled amount and Patison’s number 17 machine was now so hot that the needle on the water gauge had made a full lap around and was pegged out. Luckily the motor stayed together and Patison was able to hold on to the 11th spot. By gaining the most positions during the race Patison earned the Coca Cola Move of the Race Award.

“I couldn’t believe the motor stayed together, my gauge stops at 280, the needle past that an circled around and was reading 140 again, it was well over 300 degrees. This was a testament to the superior protection that Lucas Oil gives my engine,” said Patison after the race.

Patison now sits in a tie for 10th in the championship standings and looks to make up some points at the series’ next event, May 17th at Iowa Speed way. Jason Patison Racing would like to thank all of their sponsors for their support: Lucas Oil Products, E3 Sparkplugs, General Tire, SuperClean, Dixie Choppers, K&N Filters, Idiaz Label and HyperKuhl.
