ACDelco Super Late Model Twin Race #1

Former El Cajon Speedway racing competitor Danny Gay of Lakeside took over the lead from Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills on lap three and hung on to win the first race of the NASCAR ACDelco Super Late Model 35-lap twin bill Saturday night (May 20) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Gay’s victory was his first in Super Late Model competition at the Speedway and had to hold off repeated attempts by Joanides to take the lead. Gay beat Joanides to the finish line by 0.232 seconds. Joanides finished in second place and Luis Martinez Jr. of Long Beach finished third.

ACDelco Super Late Model Twin Race #2

Division points leader Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills led all 35-laps winning the second leg of the 35-lap NASCAR ACDelco Super Late Model twin bill Saturday night (May 2) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. The victory was Joanides 4th of the season. Rip Michels finished in second place, 1.170 seconds behind Joanides. Dan Moore of Burbank finished in third place.

Jan’s Towing Bandoleros Twin Races

Ryan Cansdale won both races of the Jan’s Towing Bandoleros 20-lap twin bill on Saturday (May 2) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Aaron Anderson took second place honors in the first race while Chancellor Tiscareno finished second in the second race. Blake Dunkleberger finished third in the first race and Rickey Schlick finished third in the second race.

Legends Cars

Darren Amidon of Santee won his first Legends Cars race at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale on Saturday (May 2) since capturing the Legends Cars division championship in 2007. Amidon won the 35-lap feature race in convincing fashion with a 1.929 second margin of victory over Ryan Reed of Bakersfield. Gary Scheuerell of Murietta finished in third place. Chad Schug of Oak Hill finished in 17th place snapping his two-race win streak.

King Taco Super Trucks

Rod Johnson Jr. of Canyon Country made an inside pass on Grant Hebner in turn two to take the lead on lap 13 and went on to win the King Taco Super Trucks 40-lap feature race Saturday night (May 2) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Division points leader Pat Mintey Jr of Quartz Hill finished in second place 1.522 seconds behind Johnson and Grant Hebner of Fallbrook finished third in the race that went flag-to- flag without any caution laps.

Pick Your Part Outlaw Figure 8s

Defending division champion Steve Stewart of Long Beach won the 20-lap Pick Your Part Outlaw Figure 8s feature race Saturday night (May 2) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Barefoot Billy Ziemann of Bloomington finished in second place and remaining two points behind Stewart in the division points standings. Tony Curtis of Hawthorne finished in third place.
