
STOCKTON, California —This Saturday 9th 2009, The New Stockton 99 Speedway presents Mom'sNight out at the Races. On the docket for the evening will be the NASCAR WhelenAll-American Western Late Model Division in their feature event,
plus GrandAmerican Modifieds, Bombers, Mini-Stocks/Mini-Trucks, and the fan-favoritePowder-Puffs in a celebration of Mother's Day.After a well-deserved week off, the Western Late Models will return to actionwith current points leader, Vito Runuio of Modesto, going for his 3rdconsecutive win and 4th on the season. Following closely in Runuio'sshadow, a mere 23 points off the pace, Justin Philpott of Tracy will try to endthat two-race win streak. Philpott celebrated his first career Late Modelvictory back on March 28th and has been consistently knocking on the door eversince. This early in the season, no one is to be counted out, but this isshaping up to be a fantastic battle for that coveted WLM title.Also on the bill, the Grand American Modifieds return to the high banks ofStockton 99 Speedway after a two-week absence. Michael Ostrowski, in his #17Modified, holds a slim 2 point lead over
second place rival, Larry Tankersley ofStockton, in their early-season points conflict. Modified greats, Scott Wintersof Tracy, and Wes Miller of Turlock, are also expected to be among the entrantsthis week.The fender-bending, heart-pumping Bomber Division returns for their 6thappearance of the year. Leading the pack, Ben Lewis II of Stockton, appears tohave these tough-handling machines figured out. With 3 wins, he sits atop thepoint standings ahead of Brian Miller of Railroad Flats, and Russell Johnson Jrof Stockton, with a manageable 24 points separating the three.In their first outing of the year, the Mini-Stock/Mini-Trucks Division will tryto conquer this tight, ¼-mile, high-banked bullring. These little four-bangersshould prove to be exciting and fun for drivers and fans alike.The fun doesn't stop there as the spectacular Powder-Puffs hit the trackfor their Mother's Day special
event.
