Bakersfield,California Auggie Vidovich, the 2003 NASCAR Southwest Tour Series Champion will be making his SRL debut on May 23rd at Madera Speedway. Vidovich will drive for the 2007 SRL Championship Car Owner, Bob Strandwold. It was announced today, that Vidovich will be behind the wheel of the actionsportsdrives.com/RPMTV.com Bob Strandwold Racing #1 Chevrolet for the remainder of the 2009 SRL Southwest Tour Series schedule.
“I think it’s cool to be part of the SRL and driving for a veteran like Bob. It should be a lot of fun having teammates in Craig (Raudman) and Troy (Ermish).” commented Vidovich.
The Bob Strandwold Racing #1 car has won three out of four SRL events at Madera Speedway (from 2006 to 2007) with three different drivers; Ryan Foster, Eric Holmes, and Dave Byrd.
“I was very pleased to receive a call from Auggie asking about the availability of the #1 car.” stated Strandwold. “I was sad and hurt to have to pull Dave out of the car due to economics, but Dave Byrd Media Relations has known since November 2008 what we needed to compete in the series in 2009. With countless hours of trying to secure sponsorship with no success, I had to make this difficult decision.” stated Strandwold. “Dave has been a great friend since the early 90’s and I’ll always be thankful for his many wins and championship for BSR.”
