TUCSON, Arizona — Tucson Raceway Park honors all of the Armed Forces on May 23rd with several unique programs. The new “Racing for Heroes” program where active military personnel will try their luck against Tucson Raceway Park regulars should be something to remember. Mark Ebert, president of Tucson Raceway Park comments, “We started talking about honoring our great servicemen and women with rides and drives in our Drivetech racecars. Then someone talked about a race, and it just went from there. We could see no better way to honor our Armed Forces than to take a couple of our service men or women and put them into our Factory Stock race.” Ebert went on to explain that Tucson Raceway Park will be taking two active military personnel by raffle out of the Tucson Raceway Park grandstand and put them in the driver’s seat. “It should be great fun and an amazing show, taking two of our military attendees and getting them into the races”, said Ebert.
Tucson Raceway Park will be choosing the winners by raffle at 6pm, so interested military personnel will need to be at the racetrack no later than 5:45 on May 23rd for HVF West/Amvets Racing Armed Forces Appreciation Night. Admission is just $2.00 for military personnel and the Marine Corps color guard will be presenting the national anthem at 7:15 with feature racing immediately to follow.
Ebert also mentioned several other prizes for attendees including rides and drives with Drivetech, a shotgun raffle and several other door prizes on May 23rd.
