The “Performance Electrical 110” at Madera Speedway is the third event of the 2009 SRL Southwest Tour Series championship season. The event will mark the first time the SRL has competed at Madera Speedway since 2007. The “Performance Electrical 110” will pay the largest winner’s pay-out in SRL Southwest Tour Series history at Madera Speedway of $4,000.
Saturday’s race is the first of three 2009 appearances by the SRL Southwest Tour Series at Madera Speedway. This Saturday’s event will also feature the NASCAR Western Late Models, ALSC, MST, Mini-Cup and
Baby Grands. The SRL will be part of an open practice from 3pm to 8pm on Friday, May 22nd. Racing on Saturday, begins at 5:30pm with the SRL Southwest Tour Series headlining the evening with the “Performance Electrical 110”.
Entering Saturday’s event, Southwest Tour veteran M.K. Kanke of Frazier Park, CA leads the 2009 SRL Southwest Tour Series championship standings with 106 points after winning the first two SRL events of 2009 (Roseville & Las Vegas). 2007 SRL champ Dave Byrd is second with 91 points, followed by the 2001 NASCAR Southwest Tour Series champion Craig Raudman. Todd Bammer of Pleasanton, CA is fourth in the championship standings with 78, followed by Troy Ermish at 75, Greg Voigt 74, Joe Farre’ 70, Victory Circle Rookie-of-the-Year leader Kevin Callahan is eighth with 68, followed closely by defending SRL Southwest Tour Series champ Jim Pettit II with 63, with Keith Spangler rounding out the top ten in points with 62.

• 2003 NASCAR Southwest Tour Series Champion Auggie Vidovich, of Lakeside, CA will be making his SRL debut in this Saturday’s “Performance Electrical 110” at Madera Speedway. Vidovich will drive for the 2007 SRL Championship Car Owner, Bob Strandwold.
• A season high of 24 SRL teams is expected for Saturday’s 110 lap race.
