
SONOMA, California — The 17th annual Vintage Race Car Festival returns to the Sonoma Plaza on Saturday, May 30, to benefit youth groups in Sonoma County through Speedway Children’s Charities, the charitable arm of Infineon Raceway. Locals and race fans alike will enjoy tastings from more than 20 local restaurants and wineries.
In addition to the fine wine and food, attendees can enjoy a stroll around the Sonoma Plaza and get an up-close look at more than 30 historic race cars from the Wine Country Classic Historic Car Races, which will be held at Infineon Raceway, May 30-31.
The evening will feature a sampling from a variety of local restaurants, including Ben & Jerry’s Ice Cream, Basque Boulangerie Café, Garden Court Cafe, Maya Restaurant, The Red Grape, Rin’s Thai Restaurant, Rocket Café, Swiss Hotel and Tuscan Cowgirl Dezerts.
More than 12 local wineries, including Arrowood Vineyards and Winery, Blackstone Winery, Bonneau Winery, B.R. Cohn Winery, Chandelle Winery, Cline Cellars, Highway 12 Winery, Landmark Vineyards and Winery, Robledo Family Winery, Roche Estate Winery, VJB Vineyards and Westwood Winery will complement the food with tastings.
The event will begin at 5 p.m. with a parade of 30 vintage racecars departing under a full CHP escort from Infineon Raceway at. The parade of cars will motor along Highways 121 and 12, before reaching the scenic Sonoma Square and taking a ceremonial lap around the square. They will then be parked around the horseshoe and on display for the public. You can even vote for your favorite car in two different contests.
