Officials of H & H Motorsports and The Modified Tour, Inc. are pleased to announce that the sanctioned events held at Tri-City Speedway on May 24, July 5, and September 4, 2009, will start 28 cars in the feature events. In addition, the July 5 and September 4 races will have purse increases.

"We are pleased to make these improvements to the Modified Tour programs at Tri-City," said speedway co-owner Rich Hetrick. "The Modifieds are the backbone of our weekly racing at the speedway and it is our way of giving back to the race teams for their continued support of Tri-City Speedway," he added. Ray Baselj, Modified Tour President commented, "we want to thank Rich and Roy for stepping up like this when they are new to the local racing scene." "This will help cement the strong relationship that The Modified Tour had and still has with Tri-City." Over the off-season, H & H Motorsports acquired Tri-City Speedway from Mike Graham and Roger Crick, long-time supporters of the Modified class and The Modified Tour.

For each of the races, there will be two additional provisionals added to the starting field. Customarily, Modified Tour events started 26 cars (24 qualified cars and two provisionals). Now, there will be a total of four provisionals. Tri-City Speedway will select two provisionals and the Modified Tour will select two.

For the July 5 program, the feature winner will receive $2,000. Second place will pay $1,200; third $775; fourth $650; and fifth $500. Tenth will pay $330. All cars starting the race will earn at least $200.

For the September 4 program, there will be a dash for the four heat race winners, with a total of $1,000 paid. The winner will receive $400! Pay-outs will drop by $100 per position.

Additional money will be paid in the September 4 feature event, which will now be 40 laps. The winner will receive $3,000! Second place will pay $1,200; third $1,000; fourth $850; and fifth $800. Tenth will pay $400. All cars starting the race will receive at least $250.
