2009 NOS ENERGY DRINK ASA ROAD COURSE CHALLENGE OPEN INVITATIONAL

June 27th and 28th Pacific Raceways welcomes the 2009 NOS Energy Drink ASA Road Course Challenge Open Invitational presented by Pawn X-Change, AA Party Rentals, Budweiser and Les Schwab Tires. This will be the second consecutive year for this fan favorite at Pacific Raceways. Driver of car #33, Travis Bennett said “This is the most exciting time I have ever had driving a car!”

Gates open at 8:00am on Saturday June 27th, practice runs until 5:00pm, and the main event takes place on Sunday June 28th when gates open at 8:00am. This 40 lap event carries a $35,000.00 purse to be awarded to the winning drivers on Sunday evening.

Gary Lewis, car #73, says “Racing the road course at Pacific Raceways is by far the coolest race track we have in the Northwest! As a driver, this track is the most challenging and exciting place around. Being able to go up through all 4 gears and hitting speeds around 180 mph and then hitting the brakes hard and down shifting to second for a sweeping lefthander is an experience that you can’t get anywhere else. Going downhill and then hitting the S turns at such high speeds is such a rush, this is just something that you will have to try!”

This second annual Road Course Challenge promises fun and excitement for the whole family! ASA NWLMT Director Scott Ellsworth said, “We are looking forward to coming back very much! This is one of our most special events of 2009 and was one of our most successful events of 2008. Drivers are looking forward to driving on Pacific Raceways’ road course and getting their cars to their full potential of 170 to 180 mph!” Tickets for Saturday cost $10 for adults and $5 for juniors, ages 7-15. Tickets for Sunday cost $15 for adults and $7 for juniors. As always, children 6 and under get in for free!

Last year’s car #2 driver Joe Benedetti said, “Going to Pacific Raceways is a highlight for drivers. It’s fun to go 180 mph on the Pacific Raceways course because it’s fast, fun and challenging. The competition doesn’t get any better! These driver know how to man-handle their cars so the competition level is high. Drivers like to race at Pacific Raceways for all those reasons.”
