RINGERS GLOVES RACING RECAP

Indianapolis (June 16, 2009) - The NASCAR Nationwide Series visited the Kentucky Speedway on Saturday for the Meijer 300 presented by Ritz, while the Sprint Cup Series, along with the ARCA RE/MAX Series, was in the Irish Hills of Michigan at Michigan International Speedway for their respective races.

Ringers' supporter Brendan Gaughan took home the highest-finishing rookie of the race honor with his fourth place finish in the 300-mile race. Penske Racing's rookie sensation Justin Allgaier claimed his third top-five finish of the season, posting a fifth-place finish on Saturday.

Both the Nationwide Series and the Camping World Truck Series head to West Allis, Wis., and the famed Milwaukee Mile their weekend events.

Sunday the Sprint Cup teams of Penske Racing took to the two-mile Michigan International Speedway for the LifeLock 400. Fuel conservation was the name of the game in the closing laps of the race and Kurt Busch used good strategies to pilot his No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge to an eighth-place finish. His Penske teammates Sam Hornish Jr. and David Stremme finished 29th and 38th, respectively.

The Sprint Cup Series heads out west to the northern California wine country and Infineon Raceway for the Toyota/SaveMart 350 on Sunday.

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series returned to Old Bridge Township Raceway Park in Englishtown, N.J., the site of the horrific crash that took the life of Scott Kalitta last year. Prior to Jeff Arend's first qualifying run on Friday, NHRA played a special tribute as team members of Kalitta Racing gathered at the starting line to watch the pass.

At the end of the day on Sunday, Ringers' racer Craig Treble landed in the Winner's Circle, collecting his second Pro Stock Motorcycle win of the season. Treble took on reigning Pro Stock Motorcycle champion Eddie Krawiec; he defeated him with a .007-second reaction time and 6.955-second, 193.10 mph run.

The Full Throttle Drag Racing Series has a weekend off before heading to Norwalk, Oh., June 25-28 for the Summit Racing Equipment Nationals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park.

That's the minute for this week! If you're in the Indianapolis area this weekend, the Jeg's U.S. National Open bracket race put on by sportsman racer Mike Fuqua is going on Thursday through Sunday at O'Reilly Raceway Park.
