BOISE, Idaho — The Northwest Pro4 Alliance will head to the “big track” -- the ASA sanctioned Yakima Speedway -- on Saturday, June 20th, where the best four cylinder late model drivers in the country will face off on the half-mile paved oval.
The long list of Alliance regulars is growing day by day, and Alliance marketing director Bob Coply states, “We’re looking at an estimated field of 30 plus cars, to sign into one of the oldest and most renowned race tracks in the Northwest.” Coply further states, “The fans are going to get a great show, as some of the best Champion drivers in the Northwest, and as far away as California, will be on hand.”
The pre-entry list kicks off with two-time South Sound feature winner Tom Keehan. Keehan has been on a hot streak this year on the coast, and looks to continue his good finishes. Rick and Steve Thompson are no strangers to Yakima, and they will be the ones to watch. A list of past champs also fill the roster as seven-time Meridian Speedway Late Model Lite Champ, Ken Chandler of Boise, ID, along with five-time Utah Late Model Lite champ, Kurt Madsen of Herriman, UT, will join three time FSCRA Champ, Jerry Keopping, who is off to one of his best seasons in a long time as the veteran driver sits second in points at South Sound and fifth in the Alliance standings.
We can’t forget three-time champ, Wayne Dillon, and defending Alliance Champion, Kameron McKeehan. Mckeehan also won his second title last year at Stateline Stadium Speedway in the Northwest Late Model 4’s. The 2008 FSCRA Champ, John Grosvenor, will also be on hand to stretch his legs on the half mile. Terry Rennick from Brooks, OR, will bring his two-car team with “The California Drifter” Eddie Secord of Oak Hills, CA, in his team car. Secord has won more Pro4 Championships at different tracks and in different series than any other driver in the west, and along with Rennick wants to add the Alliance title to that list.
There is no way you can bring this kind of talent to one race track and not have a great show. Other entries just received include Hood River, OR, driver Matt Melby; Spokane Valley, WA, driver Travis Allen; Meridian, ID, drivers Rob Powers and Chet Thorson; Boise, ID, driver Jordan Fitch; and Buckley, WA, driver Jeff Swanson. And the list keeps growing.
For Saturday night action second to none, Yakima Speedway will be the place to be as the Northwest Pro4 Alliance, along with the Yakima Speedway Sportsman, Youth Hornets and Bump-to-Pass will keep you on the edge of your seat!
The Northwest Pro4 Alliance is a compilation of the three major four cylinder late model groups in the Northwest, working to provide the race fans, competitors, tracks and sponsors large fields of cars, exciting racing, and an overall good time for all.
