ACDelco Super Late Models Twin Races #1 and #2
Nick Joanides of Woodland Hills swept the NASCAR Super Late Model twin 40-lap feature races on Saturday night (June 20) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Joanides extended his consecutive win streak to four victories and also notched his 26th and 27th career wins. In both races Joanides had to hold off repeated challenges by Rip Michels. In the first race Joanides edged Michels at the finish line by 0.197 of a second while in the second race the margin of victory was 0.211 of a second. Luis Martinez Jr. finished third in both races.
Justice Brothers Mini Stocks
During the final lap of the race, division points leader Daryl Scoggins of Sunland and Jacob Rogers of Riverside battled for the lead when Scoggins inadvertently made contact with Rogers in turn two. Rogers bobbled and Scoggins took the lead to win the 35-lap Justice Brothers Mini Stock race for his 4th consecutive win of the season. Rogers finished second, 0.924 seconds behind Scoggins. Scoggins and Rogers swapped positions for the lead on five other occasions during the race. Dennis Croasmun of Alta Loma finished third in the caution free race.
South West Tour Trucks
Dalton Kuhn started from the pole and led the entire race winning the 35-lap Southwest Trucks Tour race Saturday night (June 20) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Ronnie Davis Jr. of Whittier finished second and Christian Copley of Santa Ynez finished third.
King Taco Super Trucks
Rod Johnson Jr. of Canyon Country took over the lead on lap nine from Ron Peterson of Riverside and never looked back winning the King Taco Super Trucks 40-lap feature race Saturday night (June 20) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Johnson scored his second consecutive victory and third in his last four starts. Peterson and Mason Britton of Sacramento battled for the runner-up position with Peterson prevailing while Britton finished third. Division points leader Pat Mintey Jr. finished 4th.
