BIG FOOT COUNTRY 93.7 NIGHT AT GRAYS HARBOR RACEWAY

This Saturday Night at Grays Harbor Raceway located at the Fairgrounds in Elma, it will be Big Foot Country 97.3 Night, with five classes of cars in action. Including the Whitney’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds Triple X Ford Focus Midgets, Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks, and the Cruisers. Grays Harbor Raceway is a ASA Member Track.

In the Whitney’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars, Raymond’s Glen Borden the three time Grays Harbor Raceway Sprint Car Champion leads with 644 points. Quilcene’s JJ Hickle holds down second place 28 points behind Borden 616 points. Shelton’s Jay Cole sits in third position with 597 points, Kirkland’s Steve Vague stayed in fourth spot with 582 points and and has set fast time at the last two events. Tacoma’s Shawn Rice rounds out the top five with 559 points.

The big mover in the Shipwreck Beads Modified division is Montesano driver Josh Muller, Muller who picked up his second main event win of the year last Saturday Night has moved in to second place in the point standings a scant 6 points behind Shelton’s Scott Miller 582 to 576. Muller debuted a brand new car last week after destroying his car at the June 6th event. Seabeck’s James Wolfard sits in third with 565 points followed by the top rookie of the year contender Joe German from Aberdeen with 540 points. Former Hobby Stock champion Jim Oien Jr. from McCleary has moved into the top five with 518 points.

Auburn’s Jonathan Jorgensen continues to lead the point standings in the Triple X Ford Focus Midget Class, with 649 points. McCleary’s Brandon Daniel continues to chip away at Jorgensen’s lead as he trails Jorgensen by only 16 points at 633, as he won his second feature in a row at the last event on June 13th. Snohomish driver Seth Hespe sits in third position with 611 points followed by Springfield, Oregon driver Allison Journey with 600 points. Marysville driver Jeff Bell and Shelton’s Lee St Paul are currently for fifth position with 564 points. Bell’s position might be in jeopardy after encountering engine problems last weekend and is not sure if repairs can be made in time for this weekend’s race.

In the Cut Rate Hobby Stocks, Zack Simpson from Aberdeen has a 43 point lead 780 to 737 points over Bremerton’s Keith Knowlton, Simpson won his five of seven main event of so far this year. Gig Harbor’s Derek Junell is in third with 696 points, only 1 point ahead of Shelton’s Alan Muenchow Jr. who has 695 points. Last year’s Hornet Champion Eddie Blood from Olympia sit in fifth with 644 points.

The team of Dana Austin and James Hinkley have 24 point lead 496 to 472 over James Atkinson and Mike Clinger, the team of Travis and Brian Brearty moved into third position with 385, followed by Tad Smith and Russ Haskell with 315. Louis and Nathan Zoren round out the top five 189 points.

The front gate will open at 4:30 pm on Saturday Night, with racing to start at 7:00 pm.
