
Indianapolis (June 30, 2009) - The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series visited the Bader family's track in Norwalk, Oh., for the 12th stop on the 2009 schedule.
Five Ringers' supporting teams landed in the final round on Sunday, with two reaching the Winner's Circle in Pro Stock Motorcycle and Pro Stock.
Both Andrew Hines' and Eddie Krawiec's Vance & Hines Harley-Davidsons faced each other in the finals at Summit Racing Equipment Motorsports Park on Sunday evening. Hines ended a winless streak (last win was St. Louis 2008), with a .005-second reaction time and a 7.02-second, 189.98 mph over his teammate.
In Pro Stock, Mike Edwards advanced to his fifth consecutive final round, but it was his fourth straight final where he was denied the win. KB Racing's Jason Line piloted his teammate Greg Anderson's race car from 2008 scored his third Wally of the season with a 6.665-second, 207.30 mph pass.
Brandon Bernstein advanced to the final round in Top Fuel, but smoked the tires around 100 feet. Bernstein heads into the Western Swing fourth in the championship standings, with Ringers' team driver Antron Brown leading the field 53 points over the second position.
In Lucas Oil sportsman action, Ringers' racer Randy Simpson was looking for his first national event win in the Stock category, but had to settle for a runner-up finish as his opponent had the better light and less of a break out.
The Western Swing for the NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series kicks off at Bandimere Speedway in Morrison, Colo., on July 10.
The IndyCar Series and the teams of Andretti Green Racing short-tracked it over the weekend at the Richmond International Raceway 0.75-mile D-shaped oval in the SunTrust Indy Challenge.
The AGR teams respectively finished fourth through seventh, with the No. 27 Formula Dream team leading the stable to the finish line for the second race in a row; the No. 11 Team 7-Eleven entry finished sixth, while the No. 26 Team Venom Energy Dallara came home in seventh.
Both the IndyCar Series and the Firestone Indy Lights celebrate the Fourth of July weekend at the road course of Watkins Glen International.
The NASCAR Nationwide and Sprint Cup Series both visited New Hampshire International Speedway in Loudon for their respective events.
Penske Racing rookie phenom Justin Allgaier's top-15 finish of 13th moved him into the seventh place in the championship point standings. Ringers' supporter Brendan Gaughan finished 21st.
Two of the three Penske Racing Sprint Cup teams picked up top-10 finishes at the one-mile oval; however, the race was called early due to rain on lap 273. Kurt Busch piloted his No. 2 Miller Lite Dodge to a podium finish in third place in the Lenox Industrial Tools 301, while his teammate Sam Hornish Jr., and his No. 77 Mobil 1 Dodge finished in eighth. Their teammate David Stremme finished 28th in his No. 12 Penske Racing Dodge.
Both series head to Daytona International Speedway for their respective events this weekend.
