CHRIS JOHNSON FIRES OFF A TOP TEN IN THE KING TACO 200

Irwindale,California -- From start to finish this day stayed positive for Team Cass Racing and Chris Johnson piloting the #50 Chevy Impala SS while they competed in the King Taco 200 at the Toyota Speedway At Irwindale on July 4th, 2009.

Revisiting, both Chris and the team had higher hopes and expectations, mainly to race hard and finish this time. It was the second practice that showed some of the results we were looking for. After qualifying thirteenth, they day had just begun. Knowing it’s the race that counts,” We were in the position last time of qualifying on pole and learned that it doesn’t win you the race. “stated Chris.

The first 100 laps, brought optimism to both driver and team. With a mandatory five minute pit stop, half way through we were in eighth position. Following the restart of the last 100 laps, the car started to lose a little bit of power. Chris raced as hard as he could for the fans and finished strong with a top ten finish.

With a nearly sold out crowd of 6400 in the stands, following the race was a spectacular fifteen minute aerial firework show that was shot off in the backstretch.

Speaking with Chris after the race, the first thing he said is, “I so wanted to finish better, I’ll take the top ten yea, but it definitely didn’t show the caliber of the team, I really think I could of done better.”

I would like to thank a few people for an unbelievable event , with out them this couldn’t be possible….The fans were incredible with their before and after race support, Toyota Speedway, my family and team, Low Budget T.V. for the interview at the autograph session, Lugg Nutz for the interview at the ½ way break, Aaron Cass for representing the Army, Tyler Moorehead Productions, and Simple Green.
