JEROME, Idaho — After much thought, my father and myself have decided to part ways with RTD Motorsports.
This decision was the result of a difference in philosophy and principles. I fully support NASCAR and the Drive for Diversity program. I love racing and am grateful for the great opportunity that NASCAR and Drive for Diversity provided me. However, at this time, I am going to step back, take a deep breath and see what opportunities come my way.
We wish Phil Dugan the best of luck with his dreams and this chance to be a D4D driver.
We will continue to race with the Rocky Mountain Challenge Series, a few select West and East Series, Spears SRL Southwest Tour, Northwest Tour, ASA Racing, Midwest Series, The Challenge Series, and the Northwest Series.
We would also like to extend a special thanks to all the teams who offered all their help and support. Thank you for the special help received from Mike Duggan, Jeff Woods, and Dave Woodbury. A special thanks to Mike Warn, Mike Naake, and Bob Strandwold for trying to get a car for Jonathon.
Thanks to Thompson Motorsports for helping us with all of our late model needs. The joint effort of Jeff Jefferson and Thompson Motorsports for working 24 hour days trying to get a new car for Iowa and not giving up after problems with the car arose after arriving in Iowa. To Craig Raudman, Jeff Jefferson, and Blaine Bergen a special thanks for their continued mentoring and support. We will be racing for Thompson Motorsports in the East and West Series, Iowa and Dover even though this will during our busiest season, corn harvest.
I hope my fans continue to support my decision and will come to their local track to continue their support of my racing career. Please visit me at www.jonathomgomez.com
