
Langers Juice S2
Randel King of Riverside won the inaugural Langers Juice S2 20-lap feature race Saturday night (July 11) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Mark Reed of Bakersfield finished second and Andrew Anderson of Lancaster finished third. It was the first of seven races scheduled for the 2009 season. The series features a turn-key spec economy stock car with a fully-fabricated chassis. The car includes a spec plastic body featuring a NASCAR Sprint Cup style rear wing and a Chevy 350hp sealed crate engine power plant. The complete turn-key cost of the car is estimated at $25,000 and will serve as a stepping stone for those competitors graduating from the Legends Cars or other similar divisions and is also expected to attract sportsman drivers who are looking to compete in an affordable and competitive racing series.
ACDelco Super Late Model Twin races #1 and #2
Rip Michels and Nick Joanides each earned victories in the NASCAR ACDelco Super Late Model 40-lap feature race twin bill at TOYOTA Speedway Saturday night July 11. Michels won the first race of the twin bill which was his first of the season and 58th of his career. Joanides finished third in the first race but came back to win the second race which was his ninth win of the season. Joanides leads the division standings and Michels is in second place. Alex Haase of Las Vegas finished second in the first race and Danny Gay of Lakeside finished third in the second race.
Jan’s Towing Bandoleros Twin races #1 & #2
Aaron Anderson of Lancaster swept the Jan’s Towing Bandoleros 20-lap feature race twin bill Friday night (July 10) and Saturday night (July 11) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Rookie Ryan Cansdale of Laguna Beach finished second in both races and Christian McGee finished third in both races
Legends Cars
Darren Amidon of Santee held off the challenges of Brandon Toy and Ryan Reed to win the Legends Cars 35-lap feature race Saturday night (July 11) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Toy of Bakersfield finished second and division points leader Reed, also of Bakersfield, finished third.
Vista Paint Super Stocks
Larry Cerquettini of Redlands edged Ken Brown of Cherry Valley at the finish line by 0.006 of a second to win the Vista Paint Super Stock 20-lap feature race Saturday night (July 11) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. The win was Cerquettini’s sixth of the season. Brown finished second and Gary Frankovich third.
Train Race
The team of Robert Rice of Hawthorne and Keith Johns of Torrance won the 10-lap feature Train race Saturday night (July 11) at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale.
