Huntersville – One of NASCAR’s most successful Drive for Diversity graduates, Jesus Hernandez, continues to collect top-10 finishes in the NASCAR Camping World East Series. Hernandez finished seventh this past weekend in Thompson, Conn. The finish was his third top-10 result in only five starts. Hernandez, driving the Chivas/Telmex/Z-Line Designs Dodge owned by Troy Williams, has one top-five finish this season in a series that boasts teams and drivers affiliated with Joe Gibbs Racing, Michael Waltrip Racing and others.

The 27-year-old driver will complete the 2009 Camping World East Series season for Williams with Sean Watts Racing. The team, based in Buffalo, New York, has strong ties to the Hispanic community with driver Hernandez and sponsors such as Chivas, Telmex and Z-Line Designs. Last year, Hernandez finished third in the NASCAR Camping World East Series with six top-five finishes racing for Dale Earnhardt Inc.
“We’re not the biggest team, but Troy (Williams) and Sean (Watts) have put a lot effort into this program,” continued Hernandez. “I’ve raced with Dale Earnhardt Inc., so I know what it’s like to race with the best equipment, and we’re right there with these guys. I love racing against the best, and it’s been fun to get some good results. Hopefully we can continue to improve and challenge some of these guys for a win.”
