RINGERS GLOVES RACING

INDIANAPOLIS, Indiana — It's Brickyard week here in Indianapolis! But, before we get to the happenings going on around town, let's take a quick look back at last weekend's Ringers' teams and how they fared.

The NASCAR Nationwide Series visited Gateway International Raceway on Saturday night for the Missouri-Illinois Dodge Dealers 250 presented by Ventrilo at the 1.25-mile oval just outside of St. Louis.

Penske Racing's Justin Allgaier had to settle for an 11th-place finish after a late-race caution caught the No. 12 Verizon Wireless Dodge in the pits during a pit stop. Ringers' supporter Brendan Gaughan was involved in an accident during the race and finished the race in 31st.

Both Allgaier and Gaughan will race on Saturday night as part of Kroger SpeedFest at O'Reilly Raceway Park in Indianapolis.

The NHRA Full Throttle Drag Racing Series made its second stop of the Western Swing at Pacific Raceways in Kent, Wash., over the weekend. Ringers' team racer Antron Brown picked up his second win of the Swing in Top Fuel by defeating reigning series champion Tony Schumacher on Sunday. Should Brown win Sonoma, he will become only the eighth driver to sweep the Western Swing in NHRA competition.

NHRA concludes the three-week swing at Infineon Raceway with the FRAM Autolite Nationals this weekend, July 24-26.

Gil de Ferran Motorsports and the American Le Mans Series visited Lime Rock Park in Connecticut on Saturday for the Northeast Grand Prix. The duo of de Ferran and Simon Pagenaud picked up its third consecutive victory in the LMP1 class.

Like I said in the opening sentence, it is Brickyard week here in Indy! Kroger SpeedFest kicks off on Thursday at O'Reilly Raceway Park with the USAC Silver Crown Series' J.D. Byrider 100, followed by the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series AAA Insurance 200 on Friday and the Nationwide Series Kroger 200 on Saturday. The weekend wraps up with the Allstate 400 at the Brickyard on Sunday at the famed Indianapolis Motor Speedway.
