BELL FRUSTRATED AT ROCKY MOUNTAIN

BOISE, Idaho — July 20, 2009) – In racing and in fishing, the big ones can get away. This past weekend, BodyBuilding.Com/Minegar Racing driver Craig Bell had high hopes only to be sidelined during the RMR “75” at Rocky Mountain Raceways outside Salt Lake City, Utah. Bell suffered a cut tire midway through the event and was subject to RMR’s green track entry rules. The setback gave Bell a tenth place finish in the fifth race of the season for the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series.

Bell started mid-pack in his 46th career RMCS start but struggled with a new setup under the car almost from the start. “I have tried the all the new stuff that the other guys are using and I just don’t seem to be getting it to work,” Bell stated. “I just do not feel comfortable in the car and feeling comfortable goes a long way in running up front.”

Bell, a journeyman driver with years of experience behind the wheel would have to rely on his experience to get him through the 75-lap event. But before he could really mount a charge, a cut right rear tire sent the championship contender to the pits for service. The Bodybuilding.com/Minegar Racing team changed the tire and sent Bell on his way but unfortunately, the track officials at RMR have a rule that no cars can enter the racing action under green flag conditions. This meant all bell could do is wait and hope for a caution.

The caution came late in the race but of little consequence to Bell as he finished 10th, many laps in the rears. “Some nights it is just not meant to be and this was one of those nights,” Bell stated. “We have already put this race behind and are getting ready for the Idaho “200”. We ran really well there last year and I can’t wait to return.”

Bell drops to fourth in the championship standings after his 10th place performance just 18-points out of third and 120-points behind point leader John Dillon.

Minegar Racing is sponsored by BodyBuilding.com, Redline, Ultimate Nutrition, Supreme Nutrition, Muscletech, SciFit, Gaspari Nutrition, A-1 Heating and Air Conditioning, and Dillon Auto Craft. Both Minegar and Bell are in their sixth season in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series. Dave Minegar is a two-time series champion (06, 08) and Craig Bell has three career series victories. The next event for BodyBuilding.Com/Minegar Racing is Friday through Sunday, July 31-August 1 at Stateline Stadium Speedway located outside Coeur d’ Alene, Idaho. The Idaho 200 is one of the biggest auto races in the entire Northwest.
