KAMILCHE TRADING POST PRESENTS BIG RIG ROLLING THUNDER

This Saturday Night at Grays Harbor Raceway located at the Fairgrounds in Elma, you will see something that you gave never seen at the Raceway before. Diesel pumping, full blown Big Rigs will tackle the fast 3/8’s mile clay oval. Rolling Thunder Big Rigs race all over Washington and even venture into Idaho and Montana, this weekend will be only the second time that the Big Rigs have raced on dirt and the first time in the State. Also on the card will be the Shipwreck Beads Modifieds as they warm up for the 10th Annual Modified Nationals next weekend, the Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks and the Cruisers. Grays Harbor Raceway is a ASA Member Track.

Rolling Thunder president, Mike Gibbons from Rochester has raced his Big Rig all over the western states, and as far south as California and two Canadian provinces. Gibbons has also raced one of the trucks that will be in action on Saturday Night at Pikes Peak hill climb in Colorado.

The Shipwreck Beads Modified division has a new points leader for the first time all year, Montesano’s Josh Muller capitalized on Shelton’s Scott Miller terrible luck, as Muller won his third main event of the year and moved into the top spot with 877 points, 13 more that Miller who sits with 804 points. Miller who had a great race going until a faulty coil sent him to the pits and a thirteenth place finish. Seabeck’s James Wolfard sits in third, 35 points behind Miller at 829 followed by the top rookie of the year contender Joe German from Aberdeen who has 800 points. McCleary’s Jim Oien Jr. rounds out the top five with 784 points.

In the Cut Rate Hobby Stocks, Zack Simpson from Aberdeen continues to lead the pointds the point standings with 1120 points, 93 more than Bremerton’s Keith Knowlton who has 1027 points. Shelton’s Alan Muenchow Jr from Shelton moved into third place with 974, 2 points more that Gig Harbor’s Derek Junell who has 972 points.. Olympia’s Eddie Blood round out the top five with 921 points.

The team of Dana Austin and James Hinkley have 29 point lead 693 to 664 over James Atkinson and Mike Clinger, the team of Travis Brearty and Henry Dawson are third with 385 points on the strength of their first ever win at the last race, followed by Tad Smith and Russ Haskell with 365, Louis and Nathan Zoren round out the top five 285 points.

Next weekend is the 10th Annual Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals, the action starts on Friday July 31st with qualifying, double heat races and the 30 lap Pete Muller Trucking Race of Champions. On Saturday, Trophy Dashs, B-Mains, Last Chance race and the 40 lap Shipwreck Beads Modified Nationals feature.

The front gate will open at 3:30 pm on Saturday Night, with racing to start at 7:00 pm.
