SMYTH TAKES HOME INSTY-PRINTS COMPACT 50 AT MONTANA RACEWAY PARK

KALISPELL, Montana — Jeff Smyth made the most of Bill Mitchell’s offer to drive his Ford Mustang in the Insty-Prints Compact 50 by grabbing the pole and main event victory in his one opportunity to drive in the division this season.

Mitchell attended a wedding and offered Smyth the chance to drive the No.

44 Mustang in the Insty-Prints main event and made the trek back to the track just in time to see Smyth cover the field en route to the victory.

Tim Davis, Marvin Stone, Russel Smyth and Jeff Kikendall rounded out the top-5.

“I have to thank Bill Mitchell for the chance to drive his car tonight. I have a late model at home and I know I am going to keep working on getting that ready but Bill’s car was a lot of fun to drive tonight,” Smyth said from victory lane.

Mike Hilliker made a clean sweep of Bandoleros racing as he set fast time, won the trophy dash, heat race and the 15-lap main event over Devin Clayton.

Devin Jadwin grabbed third place in the Bandoleros class with Dalton Halden and Tristan Corpron completing the top-5.

Jason Robinson used the strength of his Ford Fusion to best the Limited Sportsman field. The No. 74 had a top car all night but was challenged in the 25-lap main event by Josh Robinson who came home second with Adam Kinkel rounding out the top-3

Dave Berglund hand his hands full with Jason Young for the full 25 laps in the Bomber main event and narrowly escaped with the win as Young tried the low side exiting turn No. 4 on the checkered flag. Bill McCallum brought home third place with Trophy Dash winner, Jimmy Worsham fourth and Chris Warburton fifth.

Katie Pilsch showed the guys how it’s done in the Hornet class main event as she took the lead early and never looked back for the win. Cory Rehm made a late race push for second place with Jarred White just missing a runner-up finish to settle for third. Kyle Basler and Trophy Dash winner Tim Hatlen roudned out the top-5.

Dustin Martell chased Jordan Keller all night long in Hobby Stock racing action and was finally able to get a handle on his Oldsmobile for the main event. In the dash for the checkers Martell moved by Keller during the middle portions of the race with David Swope keeping a close eye on the front pair. In the late going a caution bunched the field and Keller gave ti one last try to get around Martell but it was not to be and the trophy dash winner settle for second with Swope third.
