MONTANA WELCOMES INAUGURAL FLATHEAD VALLEY 75 TO KALISPELL

KALISPELL, Montana — The inaugural Red Bull/Triple W Equipment Flathead Valley 75 is set to take the green flag Saturday, August 8 with some of the best limited late model drivers in Washington, Idaho and Montana doing battle for their share of over $10,000 in prize money.

What is billed as the beginning of a yearly event allows cars from several limited sportsman and late model series to compete at Montana’s premier quarter-mile.

Headlining the field are the points leaders at Spokane County Raceway (Dan Garber), Limited Late Model Racing Series (Chris Walters), the defending ICAR champion (Nathan Fleury), Montana Raceway Park’s Limited Sportsman points leader Jason Robinson and past Mission Valley Speedway champion Casey Brandt.

Also expected is the two-car team of Osborne Racing Enterprises that features ICAR’s fifth place driver in the chase for that series 2009 championship, Russ Osborne and David Garber who will be running the teams short-track No. 93 ORE Pontiac.

Kirk Hennefer, ICAR’s fourth place driver in series standings is also scheduled to compete. Hennefer, who hails from Missoula, has one top-5 and two top-10 finishes in ICAR’s three races thus far in 2009.

Other Montana drivers expected to compete include Don Staggs, Josh Robinson, Dean Hagel, Tim Thorpe, Adam Kinkel and John Blixt.

Idaho will be represented by Casey Akers, who will be driving the No. 97 Dodge that sits in second place in driver points standings at Spokane County Raceway with a win and two second place finishes in its last three starts. Jason Jefferson and Bruce Garber have earned those finishes giving Akers plenty of confidence heading to Big Sky country.

Also on the schedule for Saturday night at Montana Raceway Park are the Hobby Stocks and Hornet cars along with a selected number of Limited Sportsman that are not entered in the Flathead Valley 75.

Admission for Saturday’s event is just $9 for adults with great family pricing available.
