Legends Cars
Rookie Dallas Montes took the lead from fellow Bakersfield resident Ryan Reed on lap 27 and went on to win the Legends Cars 35-lap feature race Saturday night (August 8) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Montes edged Reed at the finish line by 0.260 of a second. Chad Schug of Oak Hill finished third. Reed, who is 15 years old, maintained the division championship points lead with his second place finish.
Southwest Tour Trucks
Jeff Williams of Newberry fended off repeated challenges for the race lead by 17-year old Christian Copley of Santa Ynez including the last lap and hung on to win the 40-lap Southwest Tour Truck feature race Saturday night (August 8) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Williams who is second in the championship points standings edged division points leader Copley at the finish line by 0.063 of a second. Ronnie Davis of Whittier finished third.
King Taco Super Trucks
Ryan Partridge of Rancho Cucamonga and Rod Johnson Jr. of Canyon Country swapped the lead of the race on four occasions with Partridge taking over for good on lap 33 to win the King Taco Super Trucks 40-lap feature race at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. It was Partridge’s first win in Super Truck competition. Ron Peterson of Riverside who won the division championship in 2006 finished second 0.160 of a second behind Partridge. Johnson Jr. finished third and division championship points leader Pat Mintey Jr of Quartz Hill finished in 5th place.
Auto Club Late Models
Mike Johnson of Covina started in third position and jumped into the lead on the first lap leading the entire race to win the NASCAR Auto Club Late Model 40-lap feature race at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale. Rookie Dallas Colodny of Reno, Nevada finished second and Travis Irving of Corona finished third Tim Huddleston maintained his division championship points lead over Nick Joanides by finishing in 5th place while Joanides finished 11th.
Demolition Derby
Shayla Zins of Acton won her first Demolition Derby Saturday night (August 8) at TOYOTA Speedway at Irwindale. Steve Cook of Fontana finished second and Justin Stress of Mission Hills finished third
