
KALISPELL, Montana — Rain has forced officials with ARCA West and Montana Raceway Park to adjust the schedule for the Bill Clark Can-Am Memorial Weekend late model events.
Friday’s “Best of the West” 100-lap event has been canceled with an increased purse set-up for Saturday’s ARCA West Mac’s Series 150-lap main event.
The format for Saturday night’s race has the top eight Canadian drivers in time trials and the top eight drivers from the United States locked into the 24-car field with the remaining eight drivers qualifying in through a consolation race.
The Bill Clark Memorial pays $5,000 to the winner with $500 to start and over $20,000 in total purse available to the 24-car field. Caution flag laps will be counted and the race will be run without a break.
Also on Saturday’s schedule will the Canadian Baby Grands running their
2009 championship race.
Montana Raceway Park Bombers, Hornets, Compacts and Hobby Stocks weekend racing has been canceled.
Saturday, August 15 gates open at 5 p.m. with qualifying at 6 p.m. and racing at 7 p.m. A full program of Qualifying, Trophy Dashes and main events for all both classes will presented. All tickets purchased for the “Best of the West” night will be honored for Saturday’s admission.
