This Saturday Night at Grays Harbor Raceway located at the Fairgrounds in Elma, it will be Our Community Credit Union Night at the Races. The first 100 fans will receive a autographed Jay Cole/Our Community Credit Union Magnet. Four classes will be in action including the Whitney’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars, Shipwreck Beads Modifieds, Cut Rate Auto Parts Hobby Stocks and the Cruisers Grays Harbor Raceway is a ASA Member Track.
The Whitney’s Auto Group 360 Sprint Cars have been idle for almost a month, Raymond’s Glen Borden the three time Grays Harbor Raceway Sprint Car Champion continues to lead the parade with 941 points, 45 more the Shelton’s Jay Cole who has 896 points. Quilcene’s JJ Hickle sits in third with 874 points, 67 behind Borden, Tacoma’s Shawn Rice moved up one spot to fourth 81 points behind the leader at 860. Kirkland’s Steve Vague dropped one spot to fifth with 855 points..
In the Shipwreck Beads Modified division Montesano’s Josh Muller extended his point lead over Shelton’s Scott Miller to 23 points, 992 to 969. Seabeck’s James Wolfard sits in third with 909 points followed by Joe German from Aberdeen with 890points. McCleary’s Jim Oien Jr. rounds out the top five with 874 points. St. Helen’s, Oregon driver Scott Dorie won his second main event of the year at the last points race on July 25th.
In the Cut Rate Hobby Stocks, Zack Simpson from Aberdeen continues to lead the point standings with 1239 points, 99 more than Bremerton’s Keith Knowlton who has 1140 points. Simpson kept his impressive season going last Saturday as he won his second Cut Rate Hobby Stock Challenge race for the second year in a row. Gig Harbor’s Derek Junell moved back into third with 1074 points, closely followed by Alan Muenchow Jr. from Shelton who has 1062 points. Olympia’s Eddie Blood rounds out the top five with 1024 points.
The team of Dana Austin and James Hinkley lead over James Atkinson and Mike Clinger, the team of Travis and Brian Brearty are third by Tad Smith and Russ Haskell. Louis and Nathan Zoren round out the top five.
The front gate will open at 4:30 pm on Saturday Night, with racing to start at 7:00 pm.
