SANTA MARIA, California — Coming to Santa Maria Speedway Saturday night, Super Late Model Stocks and MMI Factory Stocks, plus a Powder Puff event for the ladies in Factory Stocks.
*San Luis Obispo's Steve Drake continues to lead the points race in the Super Late Model division after his third feature victory of the season August 1. Drake is 24 points up on Mike Kirby of Torrance. Bakersfield's Rob Sanders is third in the standings, 48 points behind, followed by El Segundo's Nick Bartels (-65) and Marina Del Rey's Bill Bartels (-75).
*Dale Sylvester, of Arroyo Grande, is still out in front in the Factory Stock class with a 26 point edge over Atascadero's Mike Leland. Santa Maria drivers Michael Frazier and Tim Bennett are tied for third, just 2 points behind Leland. Rounding out the top-five is Lompoc's Brandon Brickey, Sr., who is only 3 points in back of the third place tie. It's tight at the top in the Factory Stocks!
* Saturday night's spectator gates will open at the new time of 4:00 p.m. Qualifying will be at 5:00 p.m. and racing at 6:00 p.m. Tickets will cost: $14.00 for adults, $12.00 for seniors & military and their spouses, $5.00 for youngsters 6 to 12, with kids five and under free. The Speedway is located 1/4-mile north of the 101/166 interchange on Hutton Road.
