BAKERSFIELD, California — The Dominator" Brad Pounds drove his Scott Pounds Racing " Side Biter Chassis" to a decisive win at Bakersfield Speedway Saturday Night in The Wild West Modifieds Main Event. Pounds started on the pole after finishing 3rd in his heat race because of header problems. They worked on the car before the main event and got the problem solved. Pounds led the entire race and never had a serious contender to take the lead from him. Pounds said, " The car was perfect and the engine did its job, we were fast." Pounds is taking this car to Boone Iowa for the big national race in a couple of weeks. This is pounds 117 career win.
The 24 year old Pounds started his racing career at the young age of 14 in the Hobby Stock Division at Bakersfield Speedway. The Bakersfield native had won his first race by the 4th race that year. He has won 2 championships during his career. Pounds has driven IMCA's, Late Models, Street Stocks, and Hobby Stocks.
Scott Pounds Racing is owned by Scott Pounds the 1994 National IMCA Champion. They work on their own cars and maintain cars for other drivers. Brad Pounds works at the shop full time.
