ANTELOPE, California — Paulie Harraka may be back to school at Duke University, but this college sophomore recently went to the ‘head of the class’ by recording his first NASCAR Camping World Series West win at Colorado National Speedway. It was the first NASCAR Touring Series win for Drive for Diversity and for registered car owner, Mike Curb. The Bill McAnally Racing rookie driver now will return to Iowa Speedway where earlier this season, he finished second when the West Series visited the speedway in May. He is fourth in the chase for the series championship and has taken the lead running for the coveted Sunoco Rookie of the Year Award.
"We'll certainly be looking to carry the momentum we've been building in these last few races into Iowa Speedway this weekend!” said Harraka. “We finished 2nd (West) there in the spring, so I'm confident that we can go back and contend for a victory. I really like the speedway, especially the bump in the middle of 1 and 2. The place has a lot of character and allows the driver a lot of flexibility. The fan support we got in Iowa was great in the spring and I'm sure it will be even better when we run with the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series, which makes a win even more rewarding."
The NASCAR Camping World Series West race, the Central Iowa Building & Construction Trades “125” will be held at Iowa Speedway in Newton, Iowa on Sept. 4. The race will be televised on September 4th on SPEED TV at noon pacific time. Check your local listings.
