Teenage competitor and Las Vegas resident Jeremiah Wagner will compete at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 5 in the ASA Speed Truck Challenge. The event will also include Twin MetroPCS Super Late Model features.

Sixteen year-old Las Vegas native Jeremiah Wagner, who currently leads Rookie of the Year standings in the ASA Speed Truck Challenge, will compete at the Bullring at Las Vegas Motor Speedway on Saturday, Sept. 5 during Boy Scout/Girl Scout Night Labor Day festivities.

Wagner, the son of Southern Nevada homebuilder Paul Wagner, is currently third in the ASA points standings behind Randel King (327) and Joey Licata (325) with 310 points. He has competed in Nevada, Arizona and California.

Wagner has an impressive record including 2008 totals which included first place in the Legends State Pro Regional Championship; named World Finals Road Race Legends Pro champion; earning a third place in the nation for Legends Pro Asphalt Nationals; second in the Raceiver National Tour Legends Division; and second in points for the six race Silver State Road Race Championship.

In 2009, Wagner’s accomplishments have included taking ASA wins at Irwindale Raceway in Southern California May 30 June 13. He also had a second place in an ASA event March 20.

“It’s been a great year,” said Wagner, a 4.0 student at Northwest Career and Technical Academy in Las Vegas majoring in transportation. “My goal is to run NASCAR Camping World Truck Series in 2010.”

In addition, Wagner is currently building a 550-horsepower Trophy Truck that he will run in the Mint 400 off-road race next spring.

Wagner’s racing career started in 2001 when he ran go karts at Las Vegas Motor Speedway. He has been involved in community service work for LVMS appearing at schools, Nellis Air Force Base, hospitals along with various auto racing facilities.
