COTTAGE GROVE, Oregon — Rainfall in the western Oregon area has made the 1/4-mile, high-banked clay oval at Cottage Grove Speedway unsafe for racing, forcing track officials to cancel Saturday night's event for the IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour midget car division.
This is the second rainout of the season for the NWWT midgets, who along with the sprint cars lost the the Friday, June 5th event at Willamette Speedway in Lebanon, Ore. Tonight, Mitch Hoffses was to try to hold on to his nine-point lead over Evan Margeson in the NWWT midget car point standings.
The next event for the IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour is the regular dual show both the 360 wingless sprint cars and the midget cars in action, on Saturday, September 12th at Cottage Grove Speedway. The final IXL Metal Conditioner NorthWest Wingless Tour event of the season is Saturday, October 3rd at Willamette Speedway.
