ON THE RACESCENE WITH CARSON WOODS JR - MESA MARIN RACEWAY

Carson Woods Jr. first became interested in racing while attending an event at the Orange Show Speedway. That was all it took to catch the racing bug. It was not long until the Woods family had a new hobby, racing!

Many racers have a long family history of racing but the Woods family managed to do it all from scratch, beginning with a Pony Stock they successfully competed for and won Rookie-of-the Year honors at OSS.

Continuing to pursue the dream, Woods now competes in the highly competitive NASCAR Featherlite Southwest Series. With car counts of 40-50 at any given event, making the field for one of these races is a race of it's own. At times there are more cars attempting to qualify for fewer starting spots in a SW series event than you will see in the highly touted mother of all NASCAR Racing, the Winston Cup.

And the challenge provided by the friendly rivalry of the series is what Woods enjoys most saying, "I enjoy the competition".

Fans can meet Carson Woods Jr. and his family after the Coors Light 125. This is your chance to talk to a family that is following a dream. Thinking of doing the same? They just might be able to give you some tips.

Since then we have continued to race and move up and here we are in SWS!
