More XXX chassis found their way to victory lane over Labor Day weekend, as Triple X Race Co keeps piling up wins and season championships. At Lake Ozark Speedway in Lake Ozark MO, Brady Bacon and Austin Alumbaugh led the 305 field to a XXX chassis 1-2 a main finish. Bacon and the Tel-Star Communications team bolted in a powerplant on loan from Wesmar and watched Brady win his first 305 contest. The win gives Bacon 7 triumphs in XXX chassis on the year, in Winged 360, Non-Wing 360, Non-Wing 410, Midget and 305 action.
Chuck Hebing shook off some of the miserable luck he's had in 2009 to win his second main of the year, as the "Cobra" struck for the win at Autodrome Granby in Granby, Quebec with the Empire Super Sprints Friday night. Piloting a Roush-Yates Ford 360 powerplant, Cobra battled past the leader on the sixteenth circuit to grab the victory after masterfully navigating slower traffic.
Justin Martin's 3rd year of sprint car racing ended with the Ontario native bringing home his first championship, topping the ranks of the Southern Ontario Sprints. Martin rode the back of nine top ten finishes to propel him to the championship. Look for Justin and his XXX chassis next at Ohsweken Speedway for the Canadian Sprint Car Nationals, a race where Justin put on a show in the A-Main in 2008.
Patrick Bourke has been red hot since switching to his XXX chassis. In the six a features he's competed in since the switch, Bourke has won an astounding four times, the latest triumph coming in URSS action at Diamond Mountain Speedway in Vernal, UT. Bourke also won the Keizer Wheels hard charger award in the feature, coming form his 8th place starting position to the lead by lap five. Congratulations Patrick!
Jason Dolick visited victory lane for the first time in 2009, driving his 410 powered XXX chassis to a Friday night win at Lakeville Speedway in Lakeville, OH. Dolick has been the model of consistency this year, leading the points chase in the division by a comfortable enough margin that merely showing up to the track on their championship night guarantees him the title.
Luke Hall grabbed his first win at Waynesfield Raceway Park in Waynesfield, OH in 360 action, as XXX chassis put a whoopin on the state of Ohio on Friday night. Starting 5th, Hall methodically rolled in on the leaders, then took the lead with two laps left and ended up grabbing the victory by two car lengths in his XXX chassis. Earlier that evening, Hall took 5th in the 410 non wing portion of the show.
