NASCAR Auto Club Late Model rookie Dallas Colodny scored his fourth straight top five at Toyota Speedway at Irwindale Saturday night September 5th finishing fourth. Colodny qualified a solid fifth and started the race on the inside of row three. On the opening lap Colodny narrowly avoided an incident involving teammate Beau Debard and Mike Johnson. On the restart Colodny would settle into fifth position. On lap 25 Colodny used a lap car to set a pick and pass Travis Irving for fourth, which is where he would finish for his ninth top 5 of the year.
After 14 races Colodny still has an outside shot at the championship ranking fifth in points and four points behind fourth and 58 points behind first. He is also the leading rookie of the year in the NASCAR Auto Club Late Models with a 74 point lead on his nearest competitor. Colodny would like to thank High Point Racing, ExtremeWrench.com Justice Brothers, Racecar Factory, Atlantis Casino Resort and Kohn Colodny CPA’s for all their support this season.
Colodny will be back in action at TS@I September 19th for twin main events on “Pop the Habit” Night sponsored by Spangler Candies and The American Cancer Society where fans are encouraged to turn in their tobacco products for a pack of Dum Dum lollipops.
