ANTELOPE, California — Eric Holmes, pilot of the No. 20 NAPA Auto Parts Toyota Camry, and the NASCAR Camping World Series West championship team brought home a top-ten finish at Iowa Speedway. Holmes fought a tight handling car during the 125-lap race. The NAPA team from Bill McAnally Racing went to work to make adjustments to the NAPA Toyota but Holmes continued to experience a tight condition.
Holmes qualified the No. 20 NAPA Toyota Camry in tenth and climbed to 7th by the third lap. He reported to his team at lap 57 that the NAPA Toyota was “bad tight, everywhere”. He fought to keep the car off the wall thru the break at lap 75 but was unable to gain positions. The tenth place finish has the team remaining second in the chase for the series championship with one race left at All American Speedway on September 26, 2009, the team’s home track.
The NASCAR Camping World Series West race, the Central Iowa Building & Construction Trades “125” will be televised on September 10th on SPEED TV at noon pacific time. Check your local listings.
