LOUDON, N — H. – Eddie MacDonald led three different times but he had to make a pass at the end to win the Heluva Good Fall 125 NASCAR Camping World Series East race at New Hampshire Motor Speedway.
MacDonald slipped by Ryan Truex after a late restart to take the lead on lap 92 and led the final seven laps.
Goodyear is the exclusive tire provider for the Camping World Series East, as well as for the Camping World Series West and the NASCAR Canadian Tire Series. The same line of reliable Goodyear bias-ply tires serves the three series.
The race distance was shortened from the originally scheduled 125 laps to 99 due to darkness. The start was delayed by rain. The shortened distance allowed some teams to opt to run the full distance around the one-mile oval on one set of Goodyear Eagles.
“Our Goodyear Eagles performed as expected,” said Chad Fletcher, Goodyear’s sales account manager for NASCAR touring series. “Because of the consistent grip provided by the Goodyear Eagles, the drivers were able to run different grooves around the track and use the groove that worked best for their car. It was a good race with plenty of passing.”
MacDonald averaged 80.296 mph for the race distance and he led a total of 25 laps. His margin of victory was .296 of a second over Brett Moffitt. Truex was third, followed by Matt Kobyluck and Jesus Hernandez. There were 35 cars in the starting field.
