TWIN FALLS, Idaho — Jonathon Gomez of Twin Falls, Idaho will make his first start at the “Monster Mile” of Dover this Friday where he will compete in his first stand alone NASCAR Camping World Series-East race. The one-mile concrete oval of Dover international Speedway will be another in a series of firsts for the successful business entrepreneur. Gomez will be driving his family owned Heritage Cattle sponsored Chevrolet and making his second ever superspeedway start.
Gomez, a 26-year successful business entrepreneur in rural Idaho, has continued to excel behind the wheel of a stock car after what many would consider a late start to racing. Gomez will take a break from the grueling twenty hour days during the middle of harvest season to tackle another “Monster” challenge this Friday afternoon in the Sunoco “150”.
The race at Dover is a big step for the youngster as he continues to develop behind the wheel of a stock car. This season, Gomez has driven in Limited Late Model, Late Model, Camping World Series East and West along with ARCA cars in order to gain experience and shorten the learning curve after starting his racing career later than most.
Gomez cut his racing teeth on a tricky 1/3-mile paved oval in his hometown before graduating to touring series’ in the region. This season his claimed a fifth place finish in the final standings for the prestigious CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series on the strength of five top five finishes while also making several NASCAR Camping World Series starts.
Jonathon Gomez is in his fourth year of competitive racing having won local track titles at Magic Valley Speedway in Twin Falls. He has started eight NASCAR Camping World Series races with three top ten finishes and finished fifth in the final standings in the CarbonX Rocky Mountain Challenge Series, a regional late model touring series in the intermountain west. Plans call for Gomez to continue to gain experience and seat time in various series’ throughout the United States the rest of this year in preparation for a full slate of events next season.

He will compete in the NCWSE race on Friday then head back to Idaho to resume his farming duties before making several late season starts in various racing series’.
